India part one

Hello, and welcome back to my travel blog. It has been a while, but I have a brand new travel experience to share with you.
This summer, I am traveling to India, Malaysia and Thailand.
I am starting off with a relatively uneventful first 10 days in Delhi, full of jetlag and haircuts.
After sleeping for 5 hours in the middle of the day, the first thing I had eaten was a special sweet, only found in Bihar. The sweet is rice dough covered in roasted sesame seeds.

This is the sweet

On the way to the barbershop, Mom made an observation that I was as tall as Santosh Cha-Cha. It turns out that she was correct.

The only really interesting thing that happened today was my haircut.

I was surprised to see, that in a male salon, mainly the products on the wall were for women.
The haircut style is not something I normally would have chosen, but I think it looks good.

The man in the photo was my barber, and gave me a free haircut because my uncles shop was next to his shop.
The next day we went to my uncle, Papu Cha-Cha's house for dinner. After dinner we had to leave, but not before a nice photo taken by my mom.
On the way home from the dinner, we saw this half-lit sign saying retail, but now it says Tail.
Me and Santosh have been having daily wrestling matches, to see who is more powerful.
Here I am, lifting 70 kg(154 lbs) around my legs.
My cat says hi from America. His name is Fluffernutter.

Today me, my dad, and my uncle went to the farmers market to get mangoes and other fruit

The format of the market is, there are a bunch of fruit stands on the sides, but in the middle,
you get all the traffic from pedestrians and cars going through

This stand is significant, because it has fruits I have never seen in India before like starfruit, and an uncommon
fruit, apples.

This is my uncle, buying mangoes for the best price. The idea of the market is to go around the stalls looking for fruit at the best price.

Before this picture, there was a video of a man sharpening knives, using a stationary bike as his power source.
I could not get that video up, because it would not load. But I do have this hand weaved basket made from wood.

As India part one comes to an end, my cousins, Sonam and Sonali come over with my aunt
Anita Phooah and their little girl Anaya
Here you have Anaya giving some sass to everyone.

The last day of India part one was their first day of school. Both of them
attend St. Francis school, which is the school I attended while mom was on sabbatical.
