Arjun's India and China Summer Adventures, June 18th

This is me playing cricket with Bare Bhaiya and Hemant Bhaiya
We're in Patna, Bihar now, and I have 3 new cousin brothers - another set of Bare and Chote Bhaiya who are twins, and a new cousin brother called Hemant. We're on the balcony of their house playing cricket. The ball sometimes falls off the balcony. The batter is up front
Chote Bhaiya as batter, Bare Bhaiya as the umpire

Me at bat
Me swinging the bat to hit a ball so it doesn't hit the chair which is the wicket. They call wickets for out. Wickets are usually sticks that stand up out of the ground.

After cricket, we went to the "Disneyland Mela." Mela means festival in Hindi. On the way to the Disneyland Mela, we saw a cow with a calf. I took this video of the calf drinking milk and then pretty soon, the cow started peeing and it sort of sprayed on my legs.

The "Disneyland Mela" was like a fair. We had cotton candy, popcorn, ice cream. I went on rides. There was one ride that was really scary called "Rafting Racers." We were in this boat type thing and then it went up the ramp and the other boat went up the ramp, and once it got really fast it started spinning and spinning. Each side went up the ramp spinning and spinning. It was really scary.
This is me on the "Rafting Racer" when it was standing still
As I said in the last picture, it started spinning up a ramp and down again.

The Ferris Wheel
This was going pretty fast. I was pretty scared but then I found out I could flap my arms like wings.

Arjun's India and China Summer Adventures June 17-18th

A gecko lizard on a wall

Monsoon rain
We went to the market, and this is when the monsoon rain fell and flooded all the streets. We had to use a bicycle rickshaw to get us across the street. Dad tried to give him some money for helping us, but he wouldn't take it.
This is me in the flooded street

Our family in Ranchi on the day we left

This is mommy and Ruchi didi and her new baby

These are mommy's gold earrings that she couldn't wear for 5 years cause they were broken. We got them fixed in Ranchi

Yesterday we left Ranchi to go to Patna the capital of Bihar to visit more aunts, uncles and cousins. We went on a non A/C train for 8 hours. It had single seats, not benches, a lot of train cars, open windows. There was one nice boy who was very nice who gave up his seat for me. I offered him two cookies, Oreo and Bourbon biscuit, a type of chocolate Indian cookie kind of like an Oreo but with longer cookies and chocolate on the inside. The boy didn’t accept either. Maybe he was wise or scared. I saw a lot of people going up and down the aisles, poor people begging for money, floor cleaners doing their job for money, chai and snack sellers. I took a lot of pictures out of the open train door and windows, and that’s how I got evidence of the train.

Me in front of the open train door!

Spinning Ball
Today we went an amusement park in Ranchi called Fun Castle. I went on some rides like a water slide - you go straight and straight down, straight and straight down. We went on the Tornado ride, a big swirly thing that went up and down. Sideways and diagonally. On the way to the park there was a huge rainstorm. It's the monsoon. We had to wait a half hour to go into the park.

The caterpillar ride was boring. It only went up and around, up and around.

This is the Tornado

I went with Bare Bhaiya to the mango orchard. This is a tent where they probably sell mangoes. Here are some pictures I took of the orchard.

Arjun's India and China Summer Adventures June 11-13th

This is me eating daal and roti in Ghaziabad in our room.
Girl in Delhi Train Station wearing Hannah Montana Shirt, June 11th
Me and mommy tried to get a good picture of a girl wearing a Hannah Montana shirt in the train station, but this is as good as we got in the Delhi Train station. We were on our way to Ranchi in Jharkhand to visit Aunt Kanti, Little Brother, Big Brother, and Ruchi sister  (Kanti Phua, Chote Bhaiya, Bare Bhaiya, and Ruchi Didi).

Me on the overnight train to Ranchi

It's really nice and cool in Ranchi. I get a lot of stuff I want in a lot of places in India, especially Ranchi cause I have two cousin brothers and one cousin sister who buy me a lot of toys, electronic stuff, food I don't usually get like Coke, Pepsi and chips - things of the unusual.

Me with Ruchi didi's new born baby 3 months old

Daddy kissing Ruchi didi's newborn baby. Kanti Phua is in the background.

This is me taking a "bum bum" bath with a bucket.
In India I take bucket baths, and pour water on my head. Pouring water on my head is soooo cold like 40 degrees below zero!

This is me and Chote Bhaiyya in the car on the way to Dasam falls
We went to see a waterfall in the forest. You'll see the falls in the next few pictures. It was 144 feet high. It's called Dasam falls. Dasam means 10. It's called Dasam falls because the water falls down from 10 places at the top.

This is a handmade leaf plate
This is a handmade leaf plate made with real leaves. The goat is trying to eat it, that's why daddy's holding it up. People in villages use leaf plates and bowls instead of plastic.

Me holding chips and soda after climbing up the falls.  I'm holding it like a bow and arrow
